Let the Arts Center of the Ozarks be your home for artistic growth. Whether you are 3 or 103, you are the right age to try something brand new or redefine your current talents. With classes, workshops, and clinics in lots of creative areas, you can be anything you want, and learn new ways of looking at life.
The ACO offers year-round classes for a variety of ages, from pre-school to seniors. You'll find opportunities in theatre, visual arts, dance and music just waiting for you and your family. To make sure that all the children can participate in ACO activities, the "For the Love of Arts" Scholarship fund is ready to assist families in need.

Visual Arts
Multi-Media Medley with Eden Miller: Saturdays, 9:30-11:00
Unit Two: July 18, 25, August 1, 8
Have fun at any artistic level of experience with drawing, sculpture, painting, and design. Explore art from the past and around the world! Projects will be different for each unit. Students may take one or both units, and the cost is per person, per unit. Ask about the special family rate! Children under 6 must take class with a family member.

Pencils to Paint for all ages with Eden Miller: Saturdays, 11:30-1:00
Unit Two: July 18, 25, August 1, 8
This class is designed for all skill levels in drawing, watercolor, and pastels. Advanced students may explore other media with permission of instructor. Projects will be different in each unit. One on One Clay Instruction with Suedee Hall, Ages 8 - Adult: By appointment only, call our office at 751-5441 to inquire about rates and times.
This is a great chance to learn about clay, no matter what your level of skill or area of interest. The instructor will work with students on throwing on the wheel, building by hand, and anything else they might want to know about clay. The student can come to individual sessions which they design to accommodate their curiosities about clay. A true clay professional, the instructor can assist and inform, no matter how basic or advanced the student’s needs. Time slots are limited and on a first come, first served basis.
Painting in Water Media with Jennifer Schell for Ages 8-15: Tuesdays/Thursdays, 1:00 - 2:00
Unit Two: June 30, July 2, 7, 9, 14, 16, 21, 23
This class is for students who would like to become better painters. The instructor will assist in developing compositions, and creating finished paintings using acrylic and watercolor paints. Come learn the fundamentals of painting from this experienced pet portrait artist!

Theatre Arts
Creative Dramatics for K-2nd Grade w/Mary Haney: M - F 10:00 - 10:45
Unit II: July 6-10 Unit III: August 10-14
This relaxed, fun class is the perfect beginning to learn about acting. Music and movement, theatre games, playing pretend and lots of fun are at the heart of this class.

Kidstheatre Production Workshop for 2nd-4th Grade w/Nikki Sievert: M-F 3:00 - 4:00 August 3-14
Have fun with this production oriented class that teaches the world of the theatre through actual performance. Kids will audition for parts, learn lines, develop characters; as well as work with costumes, lights, sets and sound. Limited class size.
Performance date: August 15 at 10:00

Kidstheatre Production Workshop for 3rd-5th Grade w/Kathi Blundell: M-F 10:30 to 12:30

This two and a half week performance-oriented class will involve the production of an age-appropriate play, title to be announced after registration deadline. Students will be experience all aspects of theatre from auditioning and casting to acting and production techniques, involving character development, voice and diction, stage presence. They will also learn stage techniques and work with sets, lighting, costumes, and makeup.
Registration Deadline: July 10 Performance date: July 31 at 3:00
